Each study includes 36 week-long lessons designed to be used 5 days a week for about an hour each day. Every day you‘ll sing through the song you‘re learning on the Memory Passages CD. Then, if you are doing the study with school-aged children, you‘ll spend about an hour per day studying that passage–what it says, what it has to do with the gospel story, how it reveals God, sin, Christ, the Church, etc. Some days you‘ll read fictional stories–like parables–to help drive home the points of the lessons. Other days you‘ll fill in a diagram of the big picture story of redemption. You‘ll do a lot of discussing with your children, and if you‘re not already a storyteller, you‘ll learn to become one. And so will they!
You‘ll start with The Creator. This study provides the essential theological foundation you‘ll need to do all the other studies and the basic historical structure of the gospel story. After that, you can move on and learn the history of God‘s kingdom in The Shepherd-King and the history of God‘s family in The Promise-Maker. By the end of the third year, your students will have been exposed in-depth to the entire Word of God in both Old and New Testaments, and will understand that the whole thing is about Christ! Finally, in the fourth year, you‘ll study the overarching story of God‘s relationship with man in God With Us.
All four studies are appropriate and stimulating for students of all ages, from preschool on up to high school.
