Most Christian parents know that God wants them to teach the gospel of Christ to their children. But many are unsure about the how part. We believe that the Bible gives clear guidance for parents not only in what to teach, but also in how to teach it. No matter what subject you are teaching, the methods you use should be based on the nature of the subject you‘re teaching and your reasons for teaching it. The Bible is a book. It‘s a story. It contains the very words of God. And it‘s alive. The reason we‘re teaching it is to lead others into a passionate, zealous, and sacrificial love for Christ and his Church. The Bible itself offers methods which are perfectly suited to the Bible‘s own nature and purpose. The educational methods we believe Scripture exhorts us to use in delivering the gospel message are memorization, reading aloud, story-telling and story-singing, study, and discussion. Think these methods are for Kindergarten? Think again. We are creatures that respond deeply and emotionally to these methods. By teaching the Bible biblically, the Disciple Curriculum will help you to unlock the rich treasures of the gospel of Christ in all the Scriptures. Your children will memorize vast portions of Scripture, allowing them to study it at a depth which will amaze you. The songs for Bible memorization invite the emotions to enter the story and experience the love, wrath, humility, patience, and passion of God. Through discussion and study, students will learn to use their God-given story instinct to understand man’s sin, God’s sovereignty, Christ’s sacrifice, and the glory which lies in store for creation and those who believe. |
